It all started a long long time ago!
Our story started long before Veloce Imports opened its doors in 1996. The founder, Joakim "Jo" Mount, found his love of cars, like many, from his father. Andrew "Micky" Mount raced a friends Ferrari and "commuted" from Miami to Worcester in his '59 Giulietta Veloce at speeds that would not please the authorities. Micky had many Alfas and Fiats. Jo's mother Martha had her fair share of Jaguars and other British marks to boot.

Jo's own love of Alfas would see him with a revolving fleet of problematic cars that he began to cut his teeth on, unraveling the frustrations of Italian engineering. Eventually his passion would bring him to the track. Here he prepared a B-Sedan Datsun 510 to become a GT4 car that he raced in SCCA. During that time both he and his wife restored a Mini Cooper, which she used as a daily driver (that may or may not have left her stranded a few times).

With a background in engineering, racing, design, and a level of patience for frustrating cars not often seen, Jo opened his first shop in 1991, which then officially became Veloce Imports in 1996. Quickly the reputation for taking on cars that no other shop wanted, took hold. A haven for the rare, unfixable, and forgotten.

Almost as soon as he was born, Jo's son Nigel would be at the race track or shop. Spending his formative years around this land of odd cars and odd problems. As a teenager, Nigel started working for Veloce officially, and over those years would grow into a formidable technician and fabricator. Later would take his skills to the world of custom motorcycles, building award winning bikes.

Now, once again Jo and Nigel are working together on there passion. This is not a business, this is who we are. We care, about your car, and your experience with it.
